Tourisme et Handicap

A cultural site designed for everyone

Throughout the year, the site welcomes specialist organisations, leisure centres, schools, families, organised groups and individual visitors.

The Atelier-Musée de la Terre is committed to ensuring that its facilities are accessible to all and that its activities are suitable for everyone. We do our utmost to ensure that people with cognitive, visual, hearing, psychological, mental or physical disabilities are welcomed in the best possible conditions.

The Mazérolas centre houses the reception, the shop and the workshop; it holds the Tourisme & Handicap accreditation for all four categories of disability.

The reception and shop are open during weekday opening hours. Parking and access are at the rear of the building.

Clay modelling activities are open to all and available by advance booking only.

Appropriate mediation

The mediation team regularly works with people with disabilities and those requiring care. They are trained in welcoming visitors and in adapted mediation. They work in collaboration with the educational teams on a variety of heritage, cultural, artistic, sensory and therapeutic projects, tailoring their approach to the participants and the teams’ teaching methods.

On request, she can organise an activity or a tour in advance, tailored to the specified disability. On request, a deaf person who uses sign language may arrange for a sign language interpreter (subject to the interpreter’s availability and direct payment for the service).
The guided tour of the former tile works is accessible to visitors with visual impairments, featuring a sensory description, a tour booklet in Braille and large print, and a tactile terracotta model.

The tour is also available via the Handivisites app
